Joséphine vit à Jobar, à côté de Damas. Cette mère de famille a vu son mari, chauffeur de camion, et l’aîné de ses quatre enfants être exécutés avec tous les hommes du quartier par des hommes en armes pendant la guerre.
This month Coup de Pouce is proposing to come to the aid of several families in partnership with the local association 'Better life 4 Syrian children', which is based in the Damascan suburb of Jaramana, with two goals in mind:
Bachar lives with his wife and three young children in Aleppo. Before the war he worked as a lawyer, but since the outbreak of the fighting he has no longer been able to follow his profession, the courts having ceased their activities.
In association with the Church of St. Joseph in Damascus, Coup de Pouce is asking that this month you come to the aid of ten families living in the working-class suburbs of Bab Touma, Tabale and Douelaa in the capital.
Before the war, Ahed was living with her husband and daughter in Aleppo in the suburb of Machaad next to Salahedin, an area badly affected by the conflict.
In partnership with the St. Pierre Cathedral and the association Coup de Pouce, the Syrian singer Manal SAMAAN will give an oriental music concert at the St. Pierre Cathedral at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 9th June.
Manal SAMAAN will be accompanied by three Syrian instrumentalists: the oud played by Animar BARJKLI, the qanun played by Ali CHAKER and the percussionist Firan HASSAN.
The repertoire chosen will comprise some religious songs, but there will also be some medleys of traditional songs.
Entry will be free and everyone is welcome to attend.
At the end of the evening there will be a collection of your generous donations which the association Coup de Pouce, having been active in the area for two and a half years, will distribute directly to some of the families most affected by the Syria conflict.
Elias lives with his spouse and her four children in the region of Tall Tarner. He was at home with his friend when five armed men stormed into his house.
Nichan is a young 22 year-old man who lives with his parents in the village of Kahtanieh situated in the north of Syria near the town of Khameshli.
Oum Zehair Hanbali lives with her four children in a small house in a poor suburb of Damascus.
Daniel is the father of three girls and two boys. His family was living in Hassaké but, being forced to leave because of the conflict, they found refuge in Kameshli at the home of friends.
Mustafa is married and lives with his family in Aleppo. Of his eight children, two daughters are married and one son is in the army.
Albert lives with his wife and their four children at Raqqa. Before the war and despite his meagre income, he managed to support his family.
This month with the money collected by Coup de Pouce, we intend to aid 16 families identified by Professor Joseph Matta through his work at the university and his social contacts.
In collaboration with the above church, Coup de Pouce proposes in this month of November to assist nine families.
The Gerri Abu Eitta family
Gerri was living with his wife and two children in the town of Homs before the town was severely affected by the conflict.
