Families in March
The family of Adel Samaan
Adel and his wife Gaida had four children. The oldest is married and currently lives close to her parents.
One of the four children has died and the two younger ones, aged 24 and 25, live with their parents.
Before the war broke out, the whole family lived at Raqqa where Adel worked as a driver. When he retired, Adel moved to the village of Jdeideh near Idlib to establish a home with his family.
When the Idlib region was under attack, Adel's family had to leave to find refuge in an area near Lattaquié. At present, Adel, his wife and two children are living in a rented apartment in Lattaquié. Apart from the pension Adel receives, the family lacks the resources to meet their most urgent expenses due to lack of employment in the area.
The family of Amnaa Annemer
Amnaa is 35 years old and a widow, her husband having died 8 months ago. She has three children - two boys and a little girl. The family was living in a house in Machaa which was destroyed during the hostilities. Furthermore, Amnaa's husband had a violent nature, particularly towards her, and she suffered a head injury as a result of his beatings for which she requires ongoing medical treatment.
After having lost her home, Amnaa found temporary shelter with her mother-in-law but can no longer stay there following the death of her husband. Not being able to receive help from her own very poor family, Amnaa and her three children have had to live on the streets.
Today, with aid from Coup de Pouce, Amnaa is going to try to rent a room near Hama in order to send her children to school.
As a result of your donations totalling CHF1,000 collected by Coup de Pouce in January, Nisreen's family has now received the equivalent of this amount. This aid from Coup de Pouce will enable Nisreen to obtain medical care for Mohamed and meet the family's most urgent expenses.
