Families in July
Maria lived with her husband, John, and her family in Tel Hermes in the north east of Syria.
Six years ago, John was kidnapped by the fighters and since that time the family has had no news of him.
Maria's three children have now grown up - two boys, Danha and Yalda, aged 32 and 34, and a daughter, Hélène, who is 36. Two of the children are handicapped.
Due to the hostilities, Maria and her children fled Tel Hermes to seek refuge in Hassaké where they have been able to rent a room. Today, Yalda, the elder of the boys, works in a church in Hassaké where his family live under very precarious conditions.
In these circumstances, aid from Coup de Pouce would be a big help to assist Maria's family to obtain the necessary food and accommodation.
Amjad et Imane
Imane and her husband Amjad, both aged 41, have five daughters, the oldest of whom is 16 and the youngest is 4. Six years ago, before the start of the confrontations, the family lived in an apartment in Ayn Tarma near Damascus and Imane worked at a garage. Following the outbreak of the fighting, Imane and her family were forced to leave their home and find shelter in Yalda where they lived in an unfinished building used as a refuge center.
As a result of the effects the war was having on civilians, the family of Amjad and Imane was forced to undertake a long journey to find temporary shelter. Consequently, it turned out that they went from Yalda to Kaboune and then Hameh where there was a hospital for refugees.
Eventually the family left Hameh to go to Jaramana in the suburbs of Damascus.
Today the family lives in difficult circumstances, being confronted with the prohibitive rent demanded for their small accommodation and the illness suffered by Amjad due to the continual hardships endured by the whole family. In addition, his wife has a serious illness which has left her very weak.
Aid from Coup de Pouce would enable the parents to receive medical care and the daughters to continue their studies.
As a result of your donations which reached a total of CHF2,000 in July, aid has been able to be given to Maria’s family and the family of Amjad and Imane, who have each received the equivalent of CHF1,000. Thank you for your generosity.
