Abd Almasih Habou and Samira Zakou
The family we are proposing to aid in December comprises the parents, Abd Almasih Habou, aged 80, and Samira Zakou, 74, as well as their son Elias, 40.
Until this Autumn, all three were living in Ras al-Aïn near Hassaké in the north east of Syria. In the apartment they occupied, the father also ran a fruit and vegetable business. Due to this activity, he was able to provide for his family and buy medicine for himself, and also for his son who suffered from severe brain damage and was prone to attacks of epilepsy.
After the confrontations which occurred recently in the region, the family had to leave their home quickly with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. In order to escape the conflict, they walked for 16 hours before finding a room in which they could shelter in Hassaké. Currently they are only receiving emergency aid from churches and associations and have no means to obtain medicines, food, or to pay rent for the room they occupy.
Under these circumstances, aid from Coup de Pouce would be welcome to enable this family to meet their essential needs.
