Elias Al Ken and Samar Fedel Allah

The family which Coup de Pouce is proposing to assist in December is comprised of Elias, the father, born in 1957, Samar, the mother, born in 1959, and their two sons - Simon, born in 1990, and Lyad, born in 1996. All the family live in a house left to them by the grandfather at Maaret Saidnaya, a region in the district of Al-Tall under the governance of Damascus.
Elias works as an agricultural worker and his income varies according to the seasons and the jobs he is able to obtain. His elder son, Simon, is married with two children - one aged 4, and the most recent who is 8 months old. His work consists of distributing food products in a small van to the clients of a shop. Lyad, the younger son, enrolled in the army at the age of 18. In 2016 he was deployed to serve in Homs. During a mission there, he received a serious leg injury from a mine explosion and had to have an amputation. As a result, he was discharged from the army and receives no income or invalid pension.
Currently he walks a little with the aid of crutches but would like to become more independent by having a wheelchair, which he would be able to obtain with aid from Coup de Pouce
