Families in December

Mahmoud Al Eid and Mouna Al Ahmed

The family we are proposing to aid in December comprises the father Mahmoud Al Eid born in 1958, the mother Mouna Al Ahmed born in 1967 and their seven children:
Mouhammad born in 1983, Hala born in 1984, Ahmed born in 1986, Myriam born in 1987, Rawda born in 1989, Ibrahim born in 1990 and Inase born in 2007.

The family lived in AZ Zyabeyeh located in the country near Damas and owned two apartments. In 2013 during the hostilities which hit the region, their home was set alight forcing them to move to Najha. Mahmoud, the father, worked in the field of water quality control but had to leave this employment due to a health problem. Mouna, the mother, disappeared during a trip between Damas and Homs in 2016. Since then the family has heard nothing further in relation to her.

As for the children, their situation is as follows:

Mouhammad is married and has three children. He has begun restoration work on the house situated in AZ Zyabeyeh. For the time being he has only been able to repair one of the two apartments.

Hala is married and has three children. However, her husband has left the family home.

Ahmed is living in Germany. He is married and has four children. He is trying to help his family who have stayed behind by sending them money.

Myriam, who was a jeweller, has stopped working. She is married with one child who is awaiting a medical procedure.

Rawda died while giving birth.

Ibrahim has been reported missing since 2013 and Inase who is 14 is living with her sister and is unable to attend school due to the lack of appropriate paperwork.

In these conditions, aid from Coup de Pouce will assist the most needy members of this family to meet their most urgent expenses. 

Mouhammad Sabri Zantah and Hala Al Douery

The first of the two families which Coup de Pouce is proposing that you support in January is that of Mouhammad Sabri Zantah, the father, born in 1958, and his wife Hala Al Douery, born in 1967, and their five children: Mouhammad born in 1989, Abdallah born in 1990, Abed Al Rahmann born in 1992, Sara born in 1995 and Omar born in 1996.

Until the commencement of the war, the family of Mouhammad and Hala was living in an apartment which they owned in Homs. As a result of the conflict, their apartment was completely destroyed in 2012, forcing the family to move to Jaramana, a suburb situated 12 kilometres from the centre of Damascus. They rent an apartment there at the prohibitive cost of 300,000 Syrian pounds.

Currently Mouhammad, the oldest of the children, works as a professional driver, while his brother Abdallah who is married works as a minibus driver. As for Abed Al Rahmann, he is married and works with his father in the reparation of household electrical goods. Omar works in a baker shop and Sara is a student.

Despite their paid employment, the family of Mouhammad and Hala have trouble making ends meet as the cost of living is so high. In these conditions, aid from Coup de Pouce will certainly be very welcome. 

Rabah Hajar Al Omary and Hala Othman Hadid

The second family which Coup de Pouce is proposing that you aid is comprised of the mother Rabah Hajar Al Omary born in 1953 and her daughter Hala Othman Hadid born in 1993. The father who was a farmer died following explosions and damage caused by the hostilities at Ain al-Fijah where the family was living until 2013.

At this time, the mother Rabah, accompanied by her daughter Hala, moved to a suburb of Damascus. They rented a room with no furniture or comforts and which leaked when it rained. Hala left school after she received a diploma on finishing ninth grade. Since then she has been caring for her mother who suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes and has difficulty moving around.

Aid from Coup de Pouce will be a big help for this struggling family. They will, for example, be able to meet some basic needs, such as buying bread.
