Families in July
Family of Albert Al Souari
Albert was living with his wife Manar and her three daughters in Douela, a suburb of Damascus. During the conflict Albert was killed by a marksman when he was returning home in a mini-bus.
As a result of this, Manar who is an employee, is trying to provide for her family and, in particular, her three girls: the oldest, Bisare, who is 14, needs dental work, Charbel who is 11, and the youngest Ghazal who is 8.
In general, the family needs support to enable them to access medical care and to pay for school fees.
Family of Ghadah Al Nakoula
Ghadah's family is also living in the suburb of Douela in Damascus. Ghadah and her three children have been struggling to make ends meet since her husband left them to find work in Lebanon. There are three children, two of whom are girls - Roza, who has just been married, and Onel, who is 16 and is studying for her baccalauréat. The son, Elias, is 13. They are living in a small apartment but Ghadah's wage is insufficient to pay the rent. While the whole family is living in very precarious conditions, Elias is in need of an operation and Onel, the second daughter, needs medical care.
Ghadah, who has lost contact with her husband, is making a big effort to look after her children but she needs support to help meet her most urgent expenses, notably those pertaining to health.
